My Tangled Life

Is this tangled web of wires a reflection of my life?

Does this every happen to you? I'm not good with strings or hoses. I hate that this happens to me--even with my vacuum cord. The husband blames my gender. Is that fair? It is true that my arm is not the optimum length for winding up big outdoor hoses or extension cords. Below is a photo of what my hoses looked like today in the garage and I'm hoping to appeal to the disabilities of my gender and ask for help in winding them up for winter storage. We had a warm spell last week and they were used to do a final gutter wash just last week. My uncle packs up his hoses before the first threat of frost in October--way too early I say--but mine are now finally in the garage as of the middle of December, if not yet "straightened into circles."

Hoses in the garage, but no room for my car!

New non-tangling hoses are now available. When you turn off the faucet they shrink up like a male appendage in a cold lake! I see the commercial (of the hose) on television all the time. I'm not convinced.

I'm currently reading a book that explores some aspects of eastern religions and some of the benefits of yoga and meditation. The author posits one possible benefit: meditation potentially re-orders one's insides (cleans up the inner closets) and helps to alleviate the chaos that often assaults on the outside. Sounds good. Hmmmm--any suggestions for a mantra for me? I fear that I would never be able to still my thoughts and stop fidgeting long enough to meditate for the hours of silence that is required to achieve that kind of peace.

At least not until after Christmas...

But, behold! Below: my beautiful new Christmas lights from Target in big spools. (If keeping cords straight is not in my *wheelhouse, at least I have these wheels in my house!) Hope this helps with some of the outside chaos--no meditation (or mantra) needed!

800 lights await the Killing of the Live Tree and the Arrival of the Prodigal Daughters
